Sis. Hallie L. Mills, former First Lady and the late wife of Reverend Arthur E. Mills, Pastor of the Corintian Missionary Baptist Church.

Sis. Mills established Women’s Day here at Corinthian in the mid 1970’s.

She was a gifted artistic play and songwriter, and a faithful  and graceful Christian lady.  One of her favorite songs she wrote that is still being song today by Corinthian and area Churches, is “Step Back Satan Step Back”.  Another attribute was she said what she meant and meant what she said.

She served the Iowa Missionary and Educational Baptist State Convention, Women’s Department as President for 17 years.  Only relinquishing the office to her adopted daughter past President Rosetta Green of Des Moines, Iowa.  She also served as State Vice President of the National Baptist Convention Inc. Women’s Department under the auspices of the late Dr. Mary O. Ross, President.

She was a truly born again Christian that didn’t mind letting anyone know.
